Janet's Clinical Practice

Janet has been a psychotherapist for 23 years. She graduated from Smith College School for Social Work in 1985 and has been practicing in the Danbury, CT area since that time. She worked at the Danbury Hospital Outpatient Mental Health Center for six years, then went on to establish a private practice.

Janet has a general practice and sees clients with a wide diversity of problems and issues. In addition to her general practice, she has had much experience working with clients who experience the following types of concerns:

• Self-Esteem and Personal Development
• Compulsive Overeating & Weight Concerns
• Relationship & Marital Difficulties

Janet sees individual adults, ranging from young adults to seniors, and she also does couples therapy.

Janet has a holistic orientation in her work with clients. She pays close attention to the whole person on the level of body, mind, and spirit and guides the client in a way to optimize their overall well-being as well as addressing their specific concerns. Janet is known for her warm and caring manner with her clients and many people have commented that this has made a big difference in their therapy experience.

Janet currently works part-time in her Danbury office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Terri, who is Janet’s assistant in her Danbury office, is happy to check insurance benefits for anyone who wants to consider seeing Janet for therapy, or for an initial consultation. Most clients use their out-of-network benefit plan as Janet is not in most provider networks. Janet is also willing to try to work out a sliding fee scale if someone does not have insurance or does not wish to use their plan.

Traveling Route 84 East (coming from NY direction):

• Take Exit 5 off Rt. 84
• At stop sign go straight
• Continue straight to 3rd light (on North Street)
• North Court building is on the right, immediately after 3rd light

Traveling Route 84 West (coming from Hartford, CT direction):

• Take Exit 6 off Rt. 84
• Turn left at stop light onto North Street
• Go short distance to first light
• North Court building is on the left

Parking on side and back of building. "Psychological Health Associates" sign is on the suite door.

Please plan to come 15 minutes early on the 1st visit to complete initial forms, which will be on a clip board near reception window when you arrive; have a seat in the waiting room and Janet will come out to meet you at the appointment time.

Sessions are approximately 45 minutes and it is requested you give 24 hours notice for any cancellations.
